priority marker and red headed galadriel
Here is my priority marker and a red headed version of galadriel. I got kind of burned out painting half-way through the galadriel project and when I started back up again I wasn't in a galadriel place anymore. Tonight I sat down and forced myself to finish. Not my best work, but it's done. NEXT!
Fall exchange mini for Bonwirn
I thought I'd post here as the mini should be in their hands now. The request was for something from my shelf of shame and since I had 2 of these minis I decided now would be a great time to paint one of them. I did have an issue getting the hair piece to fit correctly so I went with freehanding a bandanna on instead. I think it looks about right. Also, I found a piece of artwork done that had the sci-fi skull logo on the shoulder plate so I added it here as well. The number 15 on the chest indicates Reapercon 2015. The base was simply some cork with static grasses and tufts. The attachment point to the base was really thin so hopefully everything arrived in one piece.

the great dragon Nathavarr
My posts are so sporadic right now. Many apologizes! It's getting very cold in Scotland so rugged up for the weekend to start painting one of my dragons. Nathavarr from Dragons Don't Share.
All assembled, rawr so intimidating!
Green stuff to fill the gaps.
I started doing my undercoat while waiting for my green stuff to dry because I knew it would take awhile.
Undercoat done and working on the base.
Adding my shadows with a wash.
Working on the inside of his wings.
03673: Wendigo
Alright I did this for the Fall Exchange. Pictures are courtesy of Knarthex who received him. Mostly because my cameras hid until after I shipped the mini. (stupid cameras)
Anyways here are his pics of the Wendigo I did...
Heh. He was fun to paint up and I enjoyed it. He wanted a winter/fey theme and one that would work in Reign of Winter...
Should I warn him this guy is actually an encounter at some point in the adventure...
The 2015 All Hallows Eve paint Contest. Roll up roll up
Some mood music -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOLRSJa7woc
Gather 'round my ghoulish friends as I tell you of a contest so fiendish, so diabolical, that Beelzebub himself would seriously consider not taking part because of the terrible skill required.
Charge your wands (the ones with the little brushes at the end), and listen well as I divulge the nature of this most terrible of experiments. I bid thee travel to your mountain of metal and plastic effigies, and from among these twenty foul baubles you must select one with which to do deeds most foul. Gather unto thee pigments and inks, viscous varnishes and eye of newt, and by the light of the full moon work your magic. Transform the dead effigy into a living creature......but wait, my challenge is not so simple, for no ordinary effigy can this be, it must be a tribute to All Hallows Eve and from your cauldron you must pluck wolfsbane, black mist or little pumpkin models available from hobby stores and even some miniatures manufacturers in 28mm scale.....so as to be suitably themed
Slave away my pretties and when your demonic work is complete you will send to me an image of your construction (yoohaloo@gmail.com), which I shall then craft into a great gallery of terror to be unveiled on All Hallows Eve...with much wailing and gnashing of teeth. The most splendid, monstrous creation will receive a prize from my broom cupboard.....not a broom.
For those of you that don't speak Witch. Paint a mini (or diorama/vignette) with a Halloween theme, send me a pic, I'll create a gallery and reveal on Halloween. To prove authenticity you have to have a pumpkin or pumpkin image as your backdrop in one of the photos. Despite being more intelligent than all of you I will not be judging the contest, instead I'm going to ask Ladystorm to do so, I can think of nothing more terrifying than that.
The final date for submission is October 23rd
Ral Partha Efreeti (AD&D 11-454)
I wanted to do more work on other figures tonight, but I am waiting for some paint to arrive....
I looked at my 20 primed figures, trying to think which ones I had paint to work on, and he kind of bellowed at me to be painted!
So working with my new style of working from the inside out, his skin got done tonight.
I used the Scale 75 Blood and Fire set, working from dark to light, not using the orange or yellow on the skin.
The yellow got used for his scalera, and the inside of his mouth. I didn't think red would work well here, and I thought that if it matched his eyes, it might be his 'inner fire' or some such...
The horns, teeth, and nails were done with SC75 Iroku.
This (Redacted due to family forum rules, but REALLY bad) figure has a SCULPTED pupil, but only in his right eye! I was not going to attempt to push green stuff there, and I just realized that I could have tried the liquid GS, so I just painted SC75 Cantabric Blue for pupils.
Someday I will try to do more than just one color on irises / pupils....

Targeted paint removal...
Not something I'd generally have to worry about with a normal mini, but working on a rather large scale miniature like the Dark Maiden, any advice on targeted paint removal? maybe a q-tip and some simple green?
Caelan, Avatar of Justice (Aka Kristianna & Warg)
So I painted up this little lady a month or two ago now, and I've had some fights with her... But now she's based and I've decided what the hell, I'm done with her.
Now this is my paladin from my pathfinder group =] she's a half-drow pally with a serious justice thing going on, and also, she's a werewolf, because why not =]
Now, she's got an overly huge halberd on her, because my conversions were a bit dodgier in the beginning with regards to scale. I'll probably replace her at some point, because I'm not 100% on her for my character in truth, but what do. For the time being, she's fun enough =]
As a werewolf though, I of course needed to get her a werewolf mini! I'm not really into the more humanoid wolf/man type werewolves though, as I tend to find them too muscly and stuff... So I grabbed a Bones Warg instead for her. This was in the fact the very first mini I ever painted, under Drifter's guidance and she's only just gotten based, hence she's not shown up before.
So there's Caelan the Pally, in both her lovely forms
Now... Paints. Arghh, it's been a while, and right now I'm at Drifter's, so I can't actually access my stack of paints to double check them, so here goes...
Kristianna is painted with...
GW:
Nuln Oil
Seraphim Sepia
Khorne Red
The Blue Glaze that I can't remember the name of right now
Fenrisian Grey
Auric Armour
Leadbelcher
White Scar
Pallid Wych Flesh or Flayed One Flesh, I honestly can't remember
Drakenhof Nightshade
And she's got some P3 too:
Cold Steel
Bloodtracker Brown
Umbral Umber
The Warg, on the other hand, is painted with...
GW:
Standard Mechanicus Grey
Khorne Red
Abaddon Black
Nuln Oil
White Scar
... I think. I dunno, I'll be honest, it was months ago and it was Drifter's paints ^^;
But yush, there we go. A post from me, while I'm away xD but yay, I've learned to base things a bit now, so hopefully everything in future will be more nicely finished
These two have Army Painter tufts and turf on them, and sand taken from the beach at Drifter's (because the sand on my beach is kinda icky).
Also, bonus fun fact: We found the Raging Heroes Kickstarter for TGG2 today. I just blew £93 on it *facepalm* Ahhh well... What do, eh?

Ral Partha Elf Swordsman with bow and shield
Hi all,
I just keep plugging away at the classics! This time, a Tom Meier elf from Ral Partha, with sword, shield and bow. I tried to go for kind of a woodlandish color scheme, greens and yellows, so don't know how well I succeeded in that. Photo came out a tad light, but in any case, hope you all enjoy!
Statue for Frostgrave (proof of concept)
Here is my proof of concept for the living statues scenario in Frostgrave. This is a 1984-era Ral Partha 25mm figure. I forgot how well cast the old lead is. I know there are going to be people cry about me cutting the old bases off vintage lead.
This is base coated in Reaper 09263 Mint Green, followed by Army Painter Soft Tone, then dry brushed with Reaper 09049 Ancient Bronze. IMO, this turned out to be a great patina'd bronze without buying a special weathering blend.
5 more to do (all old Ral Partha Knights).

A quick priming question
Crates of various sizes
Here are photo I thought I'd post of more minor projects I finished up. The one on the left is a Hirst Arts crate beside the bones 2 crates. I probably could have defined the bones ones more but they were all quick paints. They both have different feels. So I think they are both useful for variety.
Thanks for looking.
