eyes are probably one of the hardest things.
I have been getting better at painting my minis. but the biggest trouble i have is eyes. is there any tips to help me improve my accuracy when painting the eyes on a mini?
i watched a couple how to vdeos but i feel like maybe there is a trick i'm missing. i could really use any tips you may have please.
Pets in Space
So I was thinking of this more and more for a diorama I'm planning.
What kind of pet would you imagine someone having on their ship? Additionally what kind of pet would you want on your ship? And why.
Your ship being the one you own. Think Firefly, Han Solo, etc.
Lastly, links to miniatures that correspond / pictures would be cool too. :)

02636 - Blacksting, Wyvern WIP
Can't finish this one in one evening! Worked on it last night and tonight. Was base-coated back in 2006 and badly messed up in the intervening several years being bounced around in a box off of some giants.
Broken starting point;

After 2 evenings

Just started some of the inking I want to do. Still have to do the tongue, claws, feet details, touchups.. etc.
Green Stuff World
Any of you guys have any experience dealing with them? If so good, bad, what? I'm thinking of making an order, if I can get their web site to work, but I don't know anyone who has had any dealings with them. Thanks.
Minis we would like to see
* As the compiler of the data in the thread, I have a request, please don't spend a lot of posts on off topic chatter in this thread, it makes my compiling harder.
* The included list is formatted exactly how HQ receives it. it would make compiling much. much easier if your post included a brief list of your request at the beginning and then you follow with the paragraphs of text you wish to explain your requests. When clear items are not easily found, they may not make the list that gets forwarded. Please do not post images.
* Warlord Game expansions that is requests for specific models for Warlord are encouraged to be made in the Warlord Forums. Warlord Models are part of Game Development and not part of Fantasy Line Development.
- Sci-Fi requests belong in the Chronoscope MWLTS Thread.
- Bones requests belong in the Bones MWLTS Thread.
thank you.

77016: Rats!
Hello all!
I've been wanting to paint these Bones Rats ever since I saw the reference picture for them like a year ago.
The other day I finally sat down and did it! (All in one sitting to boot!)
(Also pictured: 77054: Galladon, Male Wizard and 77049: Arthrand Nightblade, Elf Ranger, of whom I may do their own topic, as their my first mini's of 2016, and I'm quite happy with them! BUT I had more fun playing with the Rats!!)
Since I did it all in one night, there was no point in a WIP topic, so if you wanted to see the WIP, click on the Spoiler:
And on to the finished rats!

We have some Albino rats, some black rats, some plain brown ones, and even some infected rats! Much of the basic style goes once again to the reference image from the Reaper store page.
I feel they turned out pretty well!
Normally for my tabletop playable miniatures, I'll finish them in a gloss varnish, then go over that with a matte varnish, to give them the best blend of protection and finished style. In this instance however, I opted to just go with a single coat of the matte (brushed on via Liquitex Matte). I know, not as protective, but it should do the trick. Plus even the first coat on 12 rats was surprisingly tricky. I'm glad I'm not a Warhammer player, I do not envy having to paint whole armies!
Anyway, time for some fun!

And thats the rats!
Thoughts, comments?
"Shakespeare Summarized" kid tackles Greek classics
So, my eldest, who had such fun making the funny and erudite "Shakespeare Summarized" videos in high school, is now in college, and while time is short, has still managed to tackle the Greek classics that she is studying. I am obviously biased, but I think they are fun and educational.
"Iphegenia"
"Oedipus Rex"
The Iliad, or "Troy Story", is the longest, at 11 minutes, and is completely hand-drawn owing to there being no suitable available movie footage.

The "Shakespeare Summarized" series remains on Youtube to educate and amuse.
Happy birthday, Findariel!
A happy birthday to you! ![]()
what's a good Reaper Frostgrave Apprentice (mousling)?
I don't want to just do another wizard mouse :( Someone on FB group suggested the priest/monk guy but... he kinda doesn't fit, to me. Too much like a cleric.
Anyway have any thoughts? I guess I could try to convert one but that's not my strong point.
my current band's here:

(still working on the archer and I think another mousling)
77206: Friar Stone
Hey all, DMAgamus with another mini painted. Didn't turn out great but what does these days. Today I painted Friar Stone to be used as one of my player's monk travelling companions(Brother Louis Armstrong. Blonde hair blue eyes, like he TV show). I know, it needs to be based. One day soon. Once I get the materials, I might go bact to my old minis and base them. That'll give them some extra pizzazz they desperately need. Anyways, here he is. As usual, I cringe looking at the pics, but he looks better in person. All advice welcome, trying to get better.

14189: Goblin Beast Rider,Reven Adept
Got them primed.. one fully washed, one partly washed.
Going to do the doggies in different colors / patterns, good practice for "furries" ..
Also plan on very reduced paints in multiple layers to keep the initial shading intact. Good practice for layering, considering some of the complex angles these minis give.

Brown washed doggy, black washed reven

Black washed doggie, unwashed reven (got tired)

Unwashed specimen

Priming the 5 and washing one and a half took most of the evening
OMG I painted a model I like Avatars of War Dwarf Slayer
Anyone who knows me or is an artist themselves knows I hate a good majority of my work, but occasionally I paint a figure that I am proud of. This is a Slaver from Avatars of War, one of the local cons by me has a ton of them in the bargain bin, so I always try to pick one up. This was the one I did for 2016. I am looking forward to attempting 2017!

Hello Everyone,
First post here. I've been lurking on here for a while and I have to say this place is filled with inspiration and a lot of really helpful people. I've been trying to seriously get into painting lately to up my RPG tabletop experience.
I know the face needs some work, especially the eyes. This is the first time I've tried playing around with blending, and the first real effort I've put into basing. Seeing the miniature blown up on the screen almost makes me cringe. I didn't notice all these mistakes
. However, I think he will do great representing my character in D&D.
I'd love to hear some feedback!

Lidless Eye Hobbies: The Culting Commences
Again, some washed out photos due to the lack of lighting during the winter storm, but I recently finished a bunch of Cultists.
I built them with the idea of using them in both Frostgrave as random encounters or a warband, and as Cult of the Possessed in Mordheim.
First we have some character types:
The Magister/Wizard:

The Apprentice:

The Mutants:

Darksouls/Barbarians:

And the group:
